Is Bully Ball a Strategy?

Hi everyone, I am Çağatay. I hope You are having a good day. Today we will discuss the bully ball. Is bully ball a strategy or a mindset that stems from shortcomings? Before we start this discussion, we have to know the bully ball. What is the bully ball?

The bully ball is a playing style which is physical features are at the forefront and tries to crush and harass the opponent with his physical superiority. To give example on a team basis; the 2019 Philadelphia 76'ers(Embiid, Butler, Covington), 1996 Bulls(Jordan, Pippen, Rodman), 2020 Lakers(LeBron, Davis, McGee, Howard),  2017 New Orleans Pelicans(Jurie Holiday, Antony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins). As an example on a player basis; Joel Embiid, Zion Williamson, LeBron James, Zach Randolph, Kevin Garnet... Now, we will evaluate the "Is it a strategy or obligation?"

In my opinion; the bully ball is a strategy. You are trading or finding from free agency players who are completing and adaptable each other about playing this game. After you create your roaster on this mentality, you are drawing sets which is making you more advantageous about physically and you are finding points.

Thanks to this strategy, you can punish the opponent who helps your post player. Your post player can find the free shooter. If they did not help, your post player can force post up and can score easily. As a basically all-bully ball mentality teams are using this simple mindset. They create an advantage through physical strength. They do not have to take advantage of the space created by that physical force, it may be more advantageous to finish these attacks with 3pt. Not only on post-up but also the drive and kick tactic is an example of this.

Finally, I want to say that, I think, the bully ball is a very enjoyable game. Today's NBA do not have physically focused plays a lot, we missed the old though NBA.
